I have just downloaded a demo version of the Links 2003 game which is as close as I could find. They have other games on their website but thought I'd try it first before buying. It's not great (graphics keep missing some of the options) and it has an odd swing mechanism which doesn't work perfectly, but.it's pretty close to what I was looking for and may splash out on the full game (it's not too expensive). Thanks again. Jack Nicklaus Perfect Golf is the only one I've found. You have to download it and have a Steam account.

It's pretty good with decent graphics. You can always find faults with any game but they do upgrade it and new courses are available. I have 21 courses up to now, some are simulated 'real' courses and some are fictional courses made up by some of the Steam community I believe.

All in all, I can recommend it. There are some videos on YouTube to give you an idea of the graphics and gameplay options.
