So I'm kind of a 'long time listener, first time caller' with the Castlevania series. Always wanted to play on NES, missed out for most of the lifetime of the series, and finally got around to it.The first game I beat was Mirror of Fate for 3DS (I know), then went on to beat Aria of Sorrow.
So I'm still very green to the series.Anyway, here's my question. The track 'Vampire Killer' is one of the coolest pieces of music I think I've ever heard in my life. What game has the best soundtrack? Second question, what's the best version of that song? Thanks! Also, I'm now starting a playthrough of Dawn of Sorrow. There are three ways to look at this question:In terms of the best versions of the staple Castlevania tracks, as it hase almost all of the heavy hitters. They are solid covers and the audio is high quality. In terms of the best overall soundtrack in the series: the award goes to. This soundtrack is high quality, sounds gorgeous and barely overlaps with Judgement.
Again, it is made up almost entirely of existing tracks. Now in terms of the Castlevania with the best soundtrack that contains a majority of original music: Symphony of the Night is a contender, but I think As far as I can recall, only Tower of Dolls comes from a prior game and - especially for the DS - this soundtrack sounds beautiful. Videos in this thread:VIDEOCOMMENT(1) (2) (3) (4) (5)- This is Probably my favorite Vampire Killer. It's technically not from a game itself, but a remix album in the 90's(?), I believe.
However, if that's not groovy enough for ya, check This one out. Sounds like it came straight out of Streets of Rage.(1) (2) (3)- There are three ways to look at this question: In terms of the best versions of the staple Castlevania tracks, Judgement takes the cake as it hase almost all of the heavy hitters. They are solid covers and the audio is high quality. In terms of the.- Also Sapphire Elegy.(1) (2) (3)- If your reasoning is Bloody Tears, surely there are better picks than Simon's Quest? Dawn of Sorrow?
Rondo of Blood?(1) (2) (3)- The thing about Lords of Shadow is that, although there is nothing catchy, their soundtracks excel at being gorgeous. Belmont's Theme Ascention Waterfalls of Aghartha- Rondo of Blood had The Den, which I'm sad was never used again.- If you want 'that hard-rockin', gonna whip some monster ass feel to it', Judgement takes the cake.- That's not simply a remix, buddy. And it's not only one song.(1) (2) (3) (4)- Subjective, but all of the soundtracks are pretty stunning. My personal favorites from the main games are Curse of Darkness for the PS2, and Belmont's Revenge for the Gameboy. Harmony of Despair and Judgment are nice because their soundtracks rearran.I'm a bot working hard to help Redditors find related videos to watch.
Get it on /. This is a very subjetive question.I love SoTN and LoI music, also CoD. But I also love how all GBA and DS tracks fit with their areas (not Harmony Of Dissonance, not that). I recommend you to listen to all Castlevania OSTs. Even Lords Of Shadows, which are not as good and easily forgettable, but they're very good anyways. Michiru Yamane is a goddess.Edit:SoTN is Symphony Of The Night (PSX).LoI is Lament Of Innocence (PS2).CoD is Curse Of Darkness (PS2).GBA games are Circle Of The Moon, Harmony Of Despair and Aria Of Sorrow.DS games are Dawn Of Sorrow, Portrait Of Ruins and Order Of Ecclesia.
