The magic of, the collectible horse trading cards and online virtual pet game, has captured the attention of many a little girl. I jokingly bought a booster pack for my full grown adult sister and she spent all day on the computer taking care of her new horses. So there's something here. Some sort of mystical combination of addictive trading card collecting, and 'OMG ponies!' That has made an equine franchise leviathan. And now it's on the Nintendo DS.on the DS can be summed up in a single sentence: it's everything you ought to be able to do on the web game, but can't. Players can customize themselves, ride various Bella Sara horses through forests, beaches, and in show jumping competitions, and fully interact with their horse, taking car of its every need in full 3D.

Aside from the Bella Sara paint job there really isn't anything new or notable compared to other horse games on the DS. Sonic cd opening. The activities are pretty simple and easy, nothing super special unless you happen to love combing barbs out of horse tails (and who doesn't, right?). The horses are not as detailed as their trading card artwork, but they look decent enough and they animate well. It's pretty self explanatory. There are various train environments that players can ride through at their leisure. The environments look good, and have night and day variations. They're very linear though, so there's not a lot of exploration to be had.

Part 1 - Finding hats, collecting fruit, collecting seashells, finding the Captain's parrot, wearin' dapper suits, locating fairies, collecting horseshoes, racing through apple orchards, cleaning.

The show jumping competitions are just that, too. There are numbered jumps laid out that the player must leap over under a certain time.

The stables, trails, and arena are the stages for various odd jobs and tasks, which earn the player money and Bella Sara trading cards. The card aspect adds an addictive quality to the title. Knowing that every task you do is essentially like opening a booster pack helps motivate.

Rare cards can be purchased from the store, along with new outfits and accessories for the player and the horses. As cards are collected new horses are unlocked as well, and each one is fully customizable. There's a weird feeling of solitude in the game. There are a couple characters in the game, like the old woman that runs the stable, or the shopkeeper, but most of the time it's just you and the horse.

Even the arena, which is technically packed with flat color blobs that represent people, still feels very empty. Some multiplayer would have been nice to make this more of a social experience.
